Here along the castle walls Wait for the fall Lost in thoughts Most everybody’s long Dead and gone Moved along Right on Moved along She stayed behind when everyone Fled to the hills to save themselves she creeps along the rusty walls collecting logs Counting months Waits loves return Waits loves return Once along the castle walls A village and trees It’s all debris The memory of a summer breeze Your company Reminded me Look, you’ve got a face I’ve got a face If you’ll share your space Right on Once everybody was Working the stone Then left it alone Yes, everybody was Fucked in the head A show of hands Look, you’ve got a face I’ve got a face If you’ll share the space Wait for loves return It’s been a long year Stay with me Stay with me And I won’t let you down I won’t let you down And I won’t let you down I won’t let you down

I was at my sister’s house it wasn’t really my sister’s house and everyone I’d ever known gathered for a funeral they wore Nazi uniforms had on their faces open sores god was I the only one god was I the only one my dad was dressed up like a clown his laughter rose above the ground our necks were craned it couldn’t last our lives are played out so fast a wooden cross eclipsed the sun his dreams rained down on everyone god was I the only one god was I the only one I’m living the dream I’m living the dream I’m the living the dream I looked around the gathering we’d become computer screens I asked my brother what the hell my words made puddles on the ground the puddle rose and ate his bones I tried to drag his body home god was I the only one god was I the only one I’m living the dream I’m living the dream I’m living the dream god was I the only one god was I the only one god was I the only one god was I the only one

To make sure I checked her pulse closed her eyelids and said goodnight I spent the evening by the fire feeling down, down, down, down, down, feeling down, down, down, down, down I packed lightly ‘cuz what you really need to take your baby down to Reno just to bury her along with her friends in a town where no one lives how did we ever call this home get the feeling it’s a joke it’s another funeral it’s another funeral in a field where nothing grows watch the sunset watch the dust blow feeling down, down, down, down, down And the needle prick numbs the bird pecks I could have used a friendly face How did we ever call this home? get the feeling it’s a joke it’s another funeral it’s another funeral just another funeral it’s another funeral another funeral

Old Man Grimes (free) 04:50
Thought I was losing my goddamn mind seeing demons standing in the grocery line hearing voices like the old testament telling me to pack up and forget about rent start sweating when I run into my old friends hard living when you’re living in a small town kept the smile but the mask was cracking when time was up kinda glad I was a wacko no more crazy ideas at least I lived to see it through when disease hit us up in the woods Fortified and shacked up and armed with a shotgun call me crazy but they’re all dead now no pleasure being right there’s no one left to talk about tried to warn them but they laughed and called me old fool what the hell I used to know a dance or two no more crazy ideas cuz now I’m bound to see them through the world ain’t what they used to tell you it’s gotten sinister and cold if you follow your dreams and passions they’ll probably put your ass away thought I was losing my goddamn mind packing spare batteries and solar powered flashlights hearing voices like the old testament old man grimes get away from the civilized you know you’re chosen if you ain't dead yet you ain’t a lizard if you never eat your own flesh you think the word can make you less smug you ain’t been here long enough no more crazy ideas no more crazy ideas

Look out beyond the spreading shadows see how they move if you could live to see tomorrow there’s nothing to choose back when the rats fled out of the city the rich folks came too and now they stalk us in the dark coming for you coming for me coming for you coming for me they’re coming for you they came with flags, seeking protection their smiles were masks first came the fences then the executions then feasting on flesh For all their lives, had more than they needed these soul-sucking fools so now what’s left, they turn to death won’t settle for less they turned to death wont settle for less they turned to death wont settle for less cannibals cannibals the scent of death proceeds their arrival like smoke through the years poor old man lies alone in his chair sleeping there coming for me they’re coming for you coming for me they’re coming for you cannibals cannibals cannibal millionaires cannibal millionaires

All the angels went back they lost my number was thinking the last time I saw you still have the air I breathe still take my chances though take my chances with you somehow you stayed so young at least in the picture taking the old room for a ride funny I can’t sit still I’d still take my chances though take my chances with you take my chances with you take my chances with you if all of the angels are gone that would be our fault we poisoned the water supply poisoned the air we breathe I’d still take my chances though take my changes with you take my chance with you take my chances with you farmer prima donna moving through the valley trying to prove we can plant the old crops again radiation helps the body grow I wouldn’t know who to call I try them all somewhere the angels are back somewhere that’s quiet I’ve seen the dust burn a man’s face turned into toxic waste I’d still take my chances though take my chances with you take my chances with you take my chances with you

The master of illusions meets you on the fairway tonight’s show will surely never be forgotten his trunk is filled with artifacts photographs and city maps the living doll makes you forget your troubles for a minute yet be warned I’m out with the old the fortune teller has spoken Forgotten ones will rise the sea shall boil, no seeds shall grow the birds shall fall upon the earth I guess that’s just part of the deal the psychics are known to repeal I’m out with the old come out to the cold I’m out with the old come out to the cold tonight the master shows you things aren’t what they seem when what you thought was real turns dust before your eyes

where did the day go I don’t know seems like I just laid down an hour ago I was beside myself with joy I should have left that feeling alone missing my family it’s been too long I checked the radio for a signal, anything anything I fixed the sign on the road block and turned the engine on the pick up I thought about getting the hell out of town again but the road just goes and goes and goes goes on a while I suppose where did my life go I don’t know seems like I just laid down an hour ago I got no patience it takes too long I hope somebody out there’s got better luck let me know the muffler shop on the corner it’s been closed down for years now we watched the clouds pass over Hangtown and the road just goes and goes and goes goes on a while I suppose
